The Churchill fellow
In 2019, Brad Mashman received a Winston Churchill Trust Fellowship to investigate the implementation of the circular economic transition in the European Union.

Recovery TAS matched the Trust’s investment with Director Rena Dare participating in and co-authoring the study tour report.
In late 2019, Dare & Mashman published their report titled ‘A Circular Economy Blueprint’ – an Investigation into waste reduction models for dissemination in Tasmania – Belgium, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

The European Union circular economic transition is a continuous improvement process, for example new Directives (laws) governing non-financial disclosure sustainability reporting requirements for companies was introduced 2022-2024.
Recovery’s Master Class lecture series incorporates con-current information from the EU. The aim is to ensure civil society, business & government understand and adopt best international practice in circular economics.
Importantly Australians need to be aware of international benchmarks, reporting & accreditation systems, and education requirements and opportunities for future sustainability professionals – it is a fast transforming, correcting & exciting space.
