The Recovery Circular Hub (home of the Glenorchy Tip Shop) Mission
The foundation of the Recovery Circular Hub is to ensure useful products and parts are kept in circulation at their highest values, for as long as practical as an alternative to disposal.
At its heart of the Recovery Circular Hub is a triple bottom line (social, economic and environmental benefits in equal measure) business model designed to arrest the 21st century sustainability crisis that’s been driven by linear economics of over consumption and production leading to catastrophic social, economic and environmental impacts of climate change.
The soul of the Recovery Circular Hub is to preserve and protect all life, by implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development goals by 2030 in daily practice with the Tasmanian community.

The Recovery Circular Hubs daily mission
- To preserve & conserve natural capital budgets (soil, water, air, carbon, minerals, green-house gases and carbon footprint) in existing products and parts
- Reduce landfill volume and extend landfill life
- Grow the circular economy through local wealth generation
- Social & economic capital investment in permanent, protected employment
- High quality education experiences designed to facilitate behaviour & societal change
- Increase participation & financial investment in sustainable businesses and practice
- A thriving, happy, creative re-use community, where all customers’ shopping needs are met.
