Sustainability Education Tour Goals

Students to be inspired, excited, and committed to excellence in their future careers
Students understand circular economics, the relevance of the United Nations sustainable development goals 2015 & the transformative power and wealth benefit of triple bottom line investments.

The Recovery Circular Hub, home of the Glenorchy Tip Shop is designed as an education facility using art and a lecture series as the medium to communicate important sustainability ideas – the Hub is the classroom!
Recovery TAS commissions talented Tasmanian sculptures to make found object art pieces as inclusions in our sustainability education trail – currently 30 plus pieces.
Using the sculptures, we then share our comprehensive knowledge by telling the story of waste and the circular economy through the lens of social capital, economic capital and natural capital– the triple bottom line.
- Definition of sustainability, & the United Nations Sustainable Development goals
- The third business model –the triple bottom line and its high impact investment benefit
- The circular economy – the most important risk management strategy & idea in the 21st century
- Found object art, variety of forms and materials within the practice.
- Design told through objects
Recovery can tailor tours to all age groups, and interests i.e. ideas to make art back in the classroom, to introducing sustainability and the United Nations framework, to sophisticated application of circular economic principles & the triple bottom line.
